Like all good IT projects, such as [insert project of your choice here], this posting is long overdue, the cake having been provided on 27th October! But, for the historical record, and because its been a long snowy week, here's the obligatory posting.
For reasons which I, er, forget, I was challenged to provide a cake for CEPR Cake Club.
[Note to self: next time check the prize BEFORE entering a competition.]
As I am duly banned from the kitchen at home, other than to wash up, I had to be really nice to my long suffering wife for quite a while to convince her to make one of her famous banana cake's for me.
Here's the result:
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
3 ripe bananas (mashed)
1 egg
1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup walnuts (optional)
Method
Mix all the ingredients together
Pour into a grease paper lined loaf tin
Throw it in the oven for 50-60 minutes at 170C
Conclusion
Very yummy it was too, even if I do say so myself.
